Masking and Rotoscoping

After cleaning my green screen footage I then masked out any objects that weren’t relevant to the project, which included a deflector and a stand for one of the Kino Flo lights.

Next came one of the most tedious parts. The green jumper we had placed on the back of the chair would not key out without taking too much data away from my body, I pretty much ended up transparent, and no matter what I tried in Keylight it would not look any better.

The only alternative I had was to key out the chair every second to fifth frame, depending on my levels of movement. This as you can imagine was very time consuming, but worth doing.

And it’s worth pointing out that I did this for both the falling asleep and waking up shots.
