Internet Sourced Back Plate

after filming out of the train window didn't go that well i decided to look on the internet, on Vimeo and YouTube to see if there were any pre-filmed shots that people had done from train windows, preferably filmed state on and on a tripod.

i eventually found these four on YouTube.

1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzvlO6Mk28o
This clip would have been perfect as it came with a HD option, apart from the fact its filmed in japan, and i think from the footage that's clearly obvious. This was a shame because everything else was what i wanted but i didn't feel that even if i speed it up it would make much difference.

This clip was another that just didn't quite have what i was looking for. I liked the landscape and even though its filmed in Germany there is nothing in it that would suggest it. The problems it had for me were that the camera is not locked off on a tripod and moves around a considerable amount, and also that the camera is also at an angle to the window that would make the shot i want look unnatural.

3.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVSJuqkaGWU

this clip was very nice, came in HD and was locked at the right angle on a tripod. the only problem i had with it is again it doesn't look like the UK and this was a big issue for me.

4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4cUMzZPAnQ

this clip was perfect for me and is my chosen clip to use in my project. it is filmed in HD locked off on a tripod at the correct angle and actually looks like the UK (though i believe it may be some place in America) which was important. it does have some strange reflections in the top left corner when you watch it at full resolution but this should not be a problem when its composited behind the train carriage.
